Unhappy Fiberglass or Urethane

can somebody tell me wat the differences are between the two (pros and cons) and which one is overall better... ive seen urethane parts for more money than fiber glass parts but still, is there any great difference between the two materials??

well, I personally would take urethane over fiberglass anyday. But you do have to pay more for urethane, It is supposedly unbreakable, and If you hit something you might get a few paint chips instead of a broken bumper! I havent had too many experiances with fiberglass before. but It is alot cheaper and you can make it look just as good. Theres a pretty big difference between the two, basically one is very breakable, and one is alot like you oem bumper material.

Fiberglass is alot cheaper BUT think of all the repair work to fix it if you just crack it or damage it. Urethane is more forgiving.

urethane is the way to go. might want to look on oem bodykit as well
they use high quality urethane and PERFECT paint.

FG is easier to fix, mold and form to fit the car, urethane is more durable, prone to fit better, harder to repair but less likely will have the need to.

ussually a fiberglass rear and sides is fine.. but the front should be urethan because it takes hits all the time.. rocks potholes animals.. they rarely hit the side or back of your ride.. so save money on the rear and sides but go all out on the front..
I am just putting a lip on my front bumper..

I have a urethane lip kit and when it gets hot out the kit tends to warp and bend away from the body leaving small gaps here and there on the car

thats a good point, a bodykit doesn't all have to be urethane. just the front bumper since thats the one takin all the damage and hits. the rest of the kit can be fiberglass

the fiberglass kits give them a little more leeway on making them more intricate, but you also have to consider the durability factor... i had the glass VIS kit, and hitting a cat at 75 on the highway (still dont know why a cat was on the highway) doesn't do it much justice... i got home and looked and the part that wraps around to the fender all the way to the inside part of the headlight was gone... plus, rocks and other road debris tend to chip it much easier... my next kit will be urethane... if i were only showing the car then glass would be fine, but as far as a daily driver i'd have to say urethane

I don't think fiberglass is just extremly weak..but if your talking about buying a body style, then i would go with urethane..but thats just me. maybe i'm wrong.
