HCH mods?

Soon to be new owner here. i learned that some of these cars have lean burn and some dont depending on state? Is it possible to convert a non lean burn car into a lean burn car?
also wondering if there's a 40% current hack mod or lithium battery packs for these cars? i have a g1 insight and have those mods on my car wondering if someone has developed these mods for the HCH?
(pic of my insight to get some attention)

Re: HCH mods?

Wrong forum. Reddit probably has an Insight subreddit.

No I'm asking about the civic hybrid. Not the insight. I'm just asking if there's mods for these like they have on the insights.

Re: HCH mods?

yeah, they are mostly for people worried about gas prices (although when the batteries dies, no one wants to foot the bill...)
also, aside that the most ticketed cars for speeding was the Prius some years ago...

I did not hear about modifications to the 1.3 engine either... Closest one was the HX engine, maybe? I think it was an 1.7L.

The hybrid owners does not come here much, only to ask questions about their issues with their cars...

Battery mods... unsure about those too. They are not likely to be in hypermilling forums either...

Re: HCH mods?

Ah. I'm just here for better mpg mods. Figured adding lean burn would get the car better mpg.
lithium swap would be expensive but last longer than stock and some sort of currant hack will make the car more peppy than stock.

Re: HCH mods?

ah, OK, so hypermilling forums might be the best place?
good luck. Hopefully someone with an hybrid that knows the answer will drop here.

for the HX, search for the D17A6 engine code.

Re: HCH mods?

ah, both HX and Hybrid are lean burn. If they are different from state to state? I would think that is too big to be different, but who knows?

https://global.honda/en/newsroom/new...civic-eng.html

but do stay away from the older CVT's.
not sure about newer ones either.
Maybe better for 10th gen cars

Re: HCH mods?

Apparently some versions of the hch doesn't have lean burn depending on state. And the car I'm going to buy doesn't have it.
