Slow windshield wipers

I live in central Florida and my wipers are just too slow to cope with all the rain. Is there anyway to speed up the wipers?

Am guessing a new wiper motor with lubed linkage, or it's not getting enuff juice.

Could i replace the motors myself i would i have to get a mechanic to do it?
