Brake/Rotor making noise after replacement!!

Hi,

I just got the brake and rotor changed at Pep Boys and now there is a weird screeching sound coming from the drivers side and below the car(near the axle) while driving. There is no noise when I apply the brake. The guy at Pep Boys said that there is a 1000 mile break in period of the brake pads and rotors and that the sound goes away.

I've never heard of this before. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks in advance for your help/advice.

They obviously didnt use any break light to glue those pads on so they didnt squeel.

check and see if your dust cover isn't making contact with the rotor, it will be on the engine side of the rotor. It's a big flimsy metal shield that bends easy, especially when your putting on new brakes, and when it does bend it touches the rotor and makes god awful noise.
