I have a 2005 Honda Civic VP and I want to change these myself. They are also called the cabin filter I guess. There was a post in 2006 but I can't read the person's answer. I am so tired of paying triple at the dealer for this stuff!
I don't see how to remove the glove box. I know the filter(s) is behind there.
Can someone help me? Thank you very much.

Re: Changing Dust and Pollen Filters
When you open the box there are black plastic inserts with gray rubber rollers in the sides that pop out. Once they are out the box will swing down (and proceed to dump the contents.

Cover over filters straight ahead.

Re: Changing Dust and Pollen Filters
here's some pictures in case you get stuck.. I was too lazy to take out both

but after pulling the glove box off, it's pretty straightforward swapping the cabin filters. just make a note of how you took them out so you know how to put the new ones in

here's the little tab

Push in from the outside of the glovebox

until this happens

Push up on the glove box to relieve pressure, and remove the thing

Repeat on the other side

Changing the filters is soooo unbelievably simple.. I did it while sitting in the car waiting for my mother at the Doctor's office.. I was bored.

Excuse me but can anyone tell me if it's that easy on the 2009 civics?? The dealer just replaced mine and charged me $100 to replace the damn thing!! Said you have to take apart the entire dash board. True??

Thanks for any help.

The 8th gen filter (1) can be changed in a matter of seconds. Open the glove box and flex the sides in to release and lower it down (empty it out 1st) the filter is straight ahead.
