how should i dispose of used parts

I replaced my alternator a while back with a used one that was worthless... money lost. later replaced brand new. I still have a bad alternator that i dont know how to properly dispose/recycle. I also have exhaust pipes that need to be disposed of. Is there any value as scrap metals for either? I havent been able to find an alternator rebuild shop in the area that might buy it even if its only 5$ its off my hands.

What do you do with your unusable parts?

usually auto repair shops will take them for free. or if you feel like arguing, go take it to an auto store and say youre returning a core. they will try and look up your name and not find any record, but just insist you bought it there and they might make an exception and give you some $$ back.

If your defective alternator is OEM I would like to have it.

Would gladly send you the shipping cost and a little extra.

Assuming it is for a 7th gen.

Put a scrap tote in your garage, and once a year take it to a scrap yard for 30 or 40 bucks

Scrap yard is the best. They will buy them all from you
