moonroof rattle

hey guys i have a really annoying rattle in my moonroof, sounds like its coming from the front part where the wind deflector piece is. doesnt matter if roof is closed or tilted open, and it happens with the door cover open. if i stick my hand in there, it stops. but i cant see how i would stick any foam pieces in without messing up how the roof opens. any ideas what to do?

Re: moonroof rattle

if anyone is wondering, it turned out to be a rattle between the moonroof glass and the wind deflector piece. there is a foam cushion there from the factory, but it doesnt seem to help. im just gonna take the deflector out, since it doesnt really do anything and only has a few screws holding it on. i will post back if this fixes the problem.

Re: moonroof rattle

to remove the deflector, all you do is open the moonroof completely, and remove the 4 deflector screws (2 might be covered in grease). then it slides right off and you can also remove those metal spring leafs. the sunshade is a bit harder, you have to remove the glass and the rear drain channel to unscrew the hardware holding it on.
