Fuel Octane

My 91 Civic DX recommends using premium fuel ... ! (91 octane) ..... ! any thoughts?

Use the recommended fuel octane otherwise you risk knock in the engine which will over time damage it. You also lose efficiency of the engine.

what engine you runnin? stock d's dont need 91 so i dunno why it would say that. tbohar is right also though. knock = death

D15b2 (I think) ... It's just a plain stock 91 Civic DX Hatch (Canada) Owner's Manual has been with the car since new... I was surprised when I read that too. It says use 91 octane or higher!

Strange, maybe the older D series engines called for higher octane fuel... hmmmmm.
