That stuff is pretty easy to do yourself. Change the timing belt while your in there.

I'd do them myself, because those prices are a joke. Do the stock sway bar end links even have bushings? My aftermarket's are all metal.

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

I was thinking of doing the oil pan gasket and bushings myself. The head gasket I'm a little worried about having never taking the engine apart. As far as that, how often does it need to be machined?

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

head gasket is reasonable, the rest are way overpriced. sway bar bushings takes 10 minutes, no more than $40 of labor. oil pan is also easy in most case, just look under there and make sure you can get to all the bolts. on some models the trans or chassis bars may need to be removed and then it gets quite crazy to do yourself.

As long as I'm at it should I replace the radiator too? Not that expensive to do myself right? Replacements are pretty cheap. Water pump he said is fine.

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

well if you want, but i wouldnt bother unless the old one is actually causing a problem. whats the reason for the headgasket blowing? i think that should be the first priority to fix otherwise its just gonna blow the new gasket.

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

Only thing mentioned was the seal on the radiator cap looked bad. Which is why I didn't notice the temp gauge go up. It stayed normal.

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

Well got the head gasket fixed and did the oil pan gasket. Now after driving it a bit I have another oil leak! Yay! Back it goes. What's another common oil leak? Valve cover gasket was replaced

Re: Opinion on cost to fix.

It was the oil pan gasket. Got pinched when I put it on. But now I'm back to a coolant leak again! On the right side away from the radiator.
