Timing Belt

I recently just bought an '02 civic and was wondering if there was a cover on the timing belt that you can pop off and inspect the belt? I know VW's have it. Its been too cold out so I haven't went and looked for myself.

To my understanding, your waterpump is also back there too & is driven by the timing belt. I was told that you should always have your waterpump checked when replacing the timing belt for it's a big job & expensive ! I am not speaking from experience, just hear say.

Yeah, its true... if you replace the timing belt.. and dont do the water pump... then a day later you need the water pump done... the labor alone is the same if you would have done the pump in the first place.. so since you are in there, and the timing belt also runs the water pump.. do both at the same time to save labor
