ah ****. ok so i was putting my valve cover back on and was wrenching the valve cover bolts back in. i got all the others in fine, but when i was doing the last bolt, it didnt seem to be tight enough, so i put about 5lbs of hand pressure behind it and it poped. sure enough it broke. i havent removed the valve cover yet to see the damage. and i cant get another bolt until this weekend. and i have to leave for work in an hour! which is 30 miles away. can i drive with this broken bolt until i can replace it this weekend?

You absolutely can, at most you'll seep a little oil out of the valve cover, if even that.

well i called the dealership and the had to order a new valve cover bolt, which wont be in till saturday. i took off the vc and pulled the bolt out, and with my brothers help was able to get the broken part out of the head. but by then i had already called my boss and told her i wasnt ganna be able to make it in. she wasnt real happy. but i guess i will call her back and tell her it will be ok to drive till saturday. i hope nothing else goes wrong. thanks foos

on a side note:
lately ive been getting real frustrated with my car. and if it keeps going like this im ganna sell it and buy an integra type r. right now im ganna continue my plans with it (fresh paint, get my lip kit on, coilovers, jdm headlights, fogs, cf hood and trunk and bronze rota 10s. get it looking real nice). but sad to say im no longer ganna do the n/a build i was planning. and then shes prob going up for sale (or keep it as a dd, and build a type r or do an ls>itr swap and build in the garage)

Damn dude, I've got a box full of extra valve cover bolts. Wish I would have thought about it.

I just discovered a similar problem but I have no idea how it happened.... how did you get the broken end out? Have to remove the VC and gasket?
