or maybe i just went driving at the worst possible time, around 6:30ish tonight. i lost count of how many close calls i had driving around town for about 30 mins. ppl running stop signs, merging into my car, tailgating me for miles when theres another wide open lane, pacing me on the side for unknown reasons, cutting me off going 1mph stopping for a red light, almost rear ending me cause they were busy looking at the huge 5 car accident on the other side, some suv almost ran over a cop in the road directing traffic cause he didnt wanna wait another 2 mins for our side to move again, i can go on another paragraph. and these arent your ricers or young people. these are old douchebags racing home to their tv sets. risking their $50k+ cars to shave a minute off their trip home weaving thru traffic without even a turn signal. this brand new audi was inches from my bumper at one point. i thought as you get older you start to think more when youre driving, but i guess not. doesnt help that half of em are on the road talking on the phone and have no idea whats happening. i really need to start searching out the desolate stretches of road next time. thats one thing i miss about IL were the dark backroads where you just get lost and see 2 cars a minute.

We had a few socal meets back in December and I've had so many incidents where I had to brake real hard to avoid careless drivers that were trying to merge into my lane without signaling or looking (basically, almost merging into me!). Ugh.

It does suck that their crappy and wreckless disregard for others safety saves them only minutes or seconds. Totally not worth it.

Same thing here, on my way to work this morning I had to swerve out of my lane because some moron ran out of room in his lane after passing a sing clearly marked for lane ending. There's only a million in my city, I wouldn't want to go to LA.

Yeah...i just had an 18 year old girl crash into my honda last month in a parking lot.... took 2 weeks for me to get my car back...... i drive so defensively now....Rush hour traffic by the airport going to work in Phoenix (what a mess)... people speeding cuz they are late for work etc etc.... its unbelievable... Pray to God and avoid these people....

I hate using my horn and I never use it much.. but after some idiot backed up into me I constantly use it now..People amaze me.. today some guy with a jeep blew right through a stop sign(it was snowing) If I would have slid through the intersection I would have been dead.. People drive way too fast in the snow here in ny, not even the big jeeps even the little front wheel drive cars

Damn Gearbox I feel u man, I go through this every damn day, Left lane on hwy is suppose to be for experience drivers who can drive fast, but noooo u have these knuckle heads with a 1980's ghetto *** Cadillacs going on 40mph with one hand on the phone where the minimum speed limit is 65mph and normally pple can go 75mph to 80. All other lanes are filled with cars and we are backed up for milesssss and see a hugeee gap in front their dumasses waiting to find a gap on other lanes and cross these *****. They are so stubborn that even with honks they still don't change the lane.

Then comes to stop signs, when my right is to go every idiot thinks they shud be going because of hurry. Then when traffic is smooth some idiot will decide to slam brake for not paying attention of Exits and causes an accident which gets everyone late for work.

Soooooo Sick of this, I really wanna move to place where highways and roads are rarely busy with these morons at any time of the day.

I went home for Christmas vacation to Newfoundland where there's only 500,000 people in the entire province (roughly the size of New York state).......I was so stress free while driving it was great........until I smashed into some moron pulling out of a parking lot between traffic.

We are the 4th most populated city in U.S. Nearly 2.5 million and it's increasing like nutsss. I am seriously fed up here. Just trying to get by so I can move to a better state with very less population and good resources and live in peace.

No matter what time of the day it is, even if it's 1:00 p.m. on a regular weekday, u will be stuck in traffic with bumper to bumper. It's ridiculous, especially around 5-6 p.m. traffic on all highways is like if u were to be evacuating from a hurricane or something.

Actually in 2005 we were given mandatory evacuation notice for Hurricane Rita and Everyone was on the road for no less then 30 hours. We drove for 32 hours straight and only covered 135 miles because of traffic.

This is normal traffic in Houston, and imagine if there's an accident, which usually happens oftenly:

I drove from Canada down to Atlanta and I found the driving was worse as I went farther south. Even more, I found that as the foreign population increased going south, I found the bad driving to increase as a direct relation. People not paying attention, careless lane changes, turning left on a light from the straight lane, just complete idiocy in general and most of the time it was a foreigner.
So the Houston comment makes sense.

Iam going to have disagree with you on that cause I live in Nashville,TN and everyone here obeys the laws and i rarely see a wreck and I never have some driver riding me or cutting me off and the only time i see someone speeding is usually me lol.

This is a 100% true story....it happened maybe 4 months ago, in FL.

I was driving home to get lunch at 6:30pm, I work the second shift. It was stop and go 5ft traffic, I am in the far right lane. The guy to my left directly next to my truck puts on his blinker, I nod at him letting him know I will let him in when I can. His lane opens up before mine does and he starts to come over. My lane is stopped. I honk my horn, flash my lights and do everything I can to stop him but it doesn't work. He is still comming and throwing his hands in the air like I am not letting him in. Oh yea my truck is lowered it sits 6" from the ground by the way. So I jump the curb to avoid him, by this time everyone around me is honking at him and giving the bird to him etc. Eventually my lane goes I get off the grass and keep going on my way. Well it turns out he is going the same way I am. So at the next light, while it is green, he puts his car in park and jumps out stopping traffic. Comes to my window and starts cussing me up and down, spits on my truck and hits my window its not all the way down just cracked. I tell him to step back from my car or I will call the police. He pulls out a small pocket knife while I am dialing 911. Little does he know I am in the military and have a conceal carry permit, and was currently concealing my Springfield Xd .40. He tries to stab me through the window so I unholdster my weapon and draw it to the window he backs off still mouthing I lower my weapon. I am talking to the police by speaker this whole time. He then jumps in his car and speeds away. I follow for a short time so the police can stop him, but he runs some red lights and I lost him. That was the craziest traffic experiance I have ever had, it scared this sh*& outa me. I shook for 30-40 min after, while I was talking with the polics.

Whoa, dat is crazy stuff. I wud've definitely shot his leg in the act of self defense, if not then I wud've definitely blew out his tire till the cops arrive. Even if not that then I wud've just told him that I am an off duty police officer and will not hesitate to use the conceal weapon.

I carry to save my, my families, or someone elses, not to shoot someone if they back off after presented with force. If I would have shot his leg I could have been charged with ag assault w/deadly weapon because he was backing off and I was no longer being threatened. If I would of shot his tire my permit would have been pulled instantly. Finally impersonating a police officer is not a very good thing either, it carries a nice punishment.

Well my friend u seem to likely have been stabbed then to "violate" any laws to protect yourself which consequently is a harm to ur family. Whatever it takes to teach these morons a lesson. He backed off from you but wud've likely to have killed someone else in ur position and who knows in future he just might with his road rage. It doesn't matter if he was charging at u or not, u wud've won the case regardless as he did "an attempted murder" on u.

yeah my mom got rear ended by a 70 year old lady in an 09 Lexus at a taco bell drive through, the lady was pissed that it was taking so long and kept inching up until she hit the back of my moms envoy, she tried to blame my mom for it too, very funny.

Sounds as bad over the pond as it does here. The major problem here in the UK now is that not only do we have really bad drivers but the majority of them seem to be uninsured or in someone elses car so if they end up crashing into you it is a right pain!
