Bone Stock '99 SiR Needs Help!
I'm a new member here and this is my 1st post. I'm a huge fan of the SiR and Si which is why I made an account. Haha! It's a bit of a bummer since they don't sell the 2001+ SiR/Si models here in the Philippines so I'm kinda stuck with the '99 SiR. I don't have the car yet but I'm planing on buying one for myself in the future.
So here's the question. What do you guys think for a first upgrade? I've read tons about cams, IHE, turbos and what to do if I get a turbo for it, clutch, fuel-air ratios, and all that. I'm still brain-storming on what I should get first. All I know is that I want low-mid end power cause I heard that top end power is usually for drag racing and I'm not that in to drag racing. I hope you guys can help me a bit.
Thanks and go SiR/Si!

Re: Bone Stock '99 SiR Needs Help!
i wouldent worry about the bottem end power lol its a b16a2 it has no torque and theres nothing short of FI that can help that. all its power is at top end so i just focus on that.
if you want to stay All motor, you need to figure out what your power goals are. for a b16a2 all motor 170-180whp is a resonable goal, and with some skill can get you into low 14s high 13s on a 1/4. but if your not worried about drag racing then you must be into road course?
if you want to turbo, b16s have the best rod/stroke ratio for turbocharging of any honda engine, so they handle boost well and thats what I plan on doing to my B16A SiRII. but again, low end to midrange power will be weak, its a honda lol. turbos are all about top end power. Id cheak out GO-AUTOWORKS.com and take a look at their kits. solid equipment they have. your going to need tuning for a turbo and bigger injectors/fuel pump.
basically I suggest to set a power goal, then look at what options will get you to that goal, then figure out the costs to run your setup safely, then read read read read and know what your getting into.
