Re: pulstar plugs
thanks for the info. but to me, its not worth $100 for plugs that i have to run better gas with if thats the problem for the noises. nor do i care about less pollution as i already drive a ULEV vehicle and use fuel additives that lower emissions even more. i returned these plugs for a refund. imo, it did not work at all and caused problems with the engine.

Re: pulstar plugs
well just to update everyone, their customer service is just as lousy as the plugs. they shouldve received the plugs back over a week ago, yet i still dont have a refund. and now im trying to call again and cant even get through due to it being busy (why would anyone be calling them so much unless they have problems). im just glad i used a credit card cause the money is coming back one way or the other.

Re: pulstar plugs
Ya know. I didn't see this thread until just now. But when you were talking about plugs and stuff I was skeptical.
In theory it seems like they would be a good idea, but in reality it's just marketing hype.
There is only a certain point that you notice anything. If you go from a cheapo steel plug to a expensive Iridium the change will be slightly noticeable at best, the real notice will be with gas mileage.
The better quality (more reliable) spark the more efficiently and completely the fuel burns. This is only true to a certain extent.
It's simple physics. Air and fuel has to be at a certain mixture to ignite well. If you dump more fuel into the same amount of air it's not going to burn, or burn poorly if you dump more air into the same amount of fuel same result. When the mixture of air/fuel is in the sweet spot a small spark is all you need to ignite it.
Because our cars are fuel efficient we have a lower concentration of fuel in the mix than some cars, although the mixture is still in the sweet spot to ignite.
With the mixture our cars produce, a low quality spark will not always ignite the mixture. Which is why our cars roll off the line with better plugs (platinum or better) to generate a more reliable and consistant spark. You get to Iridium and you have a very high quality spark that is very consistant.
Beyond that, it's just throwing money away.
Take a glass of ice. You put 1 cube in and it's going to kinda make your drink cold, you add a full glass of ice the drink will be really cold. These Pulsars are like like adding an extra ice cube to your glass of ice to make the drink colder, it just doesn't help and in some cases, like these Pulsars, it'll make the glass overflow and make a big mess.

Re: pulstar plugs
well im guessing the flaw with these pulstars is the increased discharge makes the plugs heat up alot more. they got so hot that its detonating especially under heavy loads with more fuel in the mixture. they say not to used on turboed cars because it would probably detonate horribly with the already increased heat. that would be my guess a material flaw in whatever they use on the tip ( cant think of what its called right now). i bet it would work better on something without coil on plug. thats just my thoughts

yeah i got worried about the bigger spark, i mean there are limits. going from 50 watts stock to 1 million watts seems crazy to me. and it prolly robs more electrical system performance to keep charging that kind of power.

Re: pulstar plugs
well here an update, finally after 3 weeks since i sent the plugs back. I called them again pissed as hell, took a while to get through again cause they only have one line and tons of people calling to complain, finally i get some douche on the phone, yell at him and ask why it takes 3 weeks to get a refund, threaten to do a chargeback if i dont get the money by the end of the week, then as soon as i hang up, theres an email from them with a $100 refund
so in summary, dont buy from these douchetards. their products are almost as bad as their service.

I must be one of the lucky ones.... since I installed them my idle is smoother & I noticed a bit of torque..... the HP gains they state...I dunno !!!
I do have a voltage regulator....so that might be a main reason they work well for me..... along w/ a CIA.....
Sorry to hear they have been butts !!!
