2 of my buddies just got tickets for there pipes on there car..and they not loud at all. dont they have to do a decable check?..and if so, dose anyone know that max amount you can have??

Here in Oklahoma there is no smog, no safety inspection, no nothing. If it will roll and has lights you are good to go.

Same here in cali... and worse in some cities. get this they would pull over anything that looked remotely modified. ie: Lowered, brand sticker, exhaust.... whatever, you get the point. And then get this, they would demand you to open your hood and give you a ticket if they saw what they thought not stock.

here in ny you can get pulled over for being lowered also but that is rare, and for them to give them a ticket they have to have a decibal meter and stand at like a 45 degree angle and 4 feet away from the exhaust tip....some crazy **** like that lol. If they had no meter on them, fight it

the legal limit is so damn loud i doubt the exhaust was illegal

It varies from state to state really. But basically it comes down to how bored/ aholish a cop feels like being on a patrol. Best bet is to go to your local DMV to try to find out/ google NY driving laws/regs.

thats bs about giving a ticket for being lowerd. but ur right, most of that stuff depends on how bored a cop is or w/e. thanks for all the reply guys =)
