Unhappy Dilemma...

I have recently decided that I want a new car which may just be an impulse. That new car is an 08 Si coupe. Right now I have a '02 Civic EX. I can't decide if I want to go with a new car (Si) or continue dumping money into mine. I only have 75,000 miles on mine currently but once a car hits 100,000 you might as well run it till the wheels fall off because you won't get out of it what you want and most dealerships will not take it as trade in <--- from what I have heard. Right now my car is paid off so I am not sure about having a car payment each month but I really want this car. Insurance doesn't change enough to effect my decision. Please give me your opinion as to what you think I should do?

Re: Dilemma...

To me i rather not make any more payments and jus keep your car you have now.. until its need a new engine or jus get a luxury car.. !!! pick up g35 or g37 anything along that line!!! if your going to spend that much money on a honda... better off geting a higher end car..

Re: Dilemma...

35,000 for the G37 or 25,000 for the Si...little bit of a difference but thanks for the advice because I originally wanted a TL type s but they are a bit pricey also.

Re: Dilemma...

if ur gona get another civic, id look into the 08 mugen civic. in my opinion, the new ones look more jazzy with bodt kids and stuff than some of the old ones. but heres some stuff on the ugen if you are intersted:

Re: Dilemma...

^^^The problems with the Mugen civic is its 30K+ and the first night at home someone would steal it.

I think you should hold on to your 7th gen. Car payments suck in my opinion and you have quite a few years left on your current civic. Wait a couple of years(while saving up) and pick up the car that you really want. The TL type S is sweet.

Re: Dilemma...

thanks for the compliments on my whip. Yeah I am still not sure as to what I am going to do. I like the looks of the new SI's but its just the fact of havin' a car payment that I don't like. Yeah I looked into the mugen civic but you can get a mercedes c-class for about the same price. I figure I will just save up the next couple of years for the type s tl. Time now to start buyin' parts for the winter to put on in the spring lol. I am still open to opinions so keep them coming. Thanks!

Re: Dilemma...

if you got the money to buy a new car, why dont you do a k-swap? youd then have the same engine/speed but for $19,000 less.

Re: Dilemma...

I don't know a thing about a motor swap so I would lose money there having it done professionally. What do those motors run? $5 g's?

Re: Dilemma...

If you've only got 75,000 miles on your Civic, I'd keep it and save the payments for whatever you want a couple of years down the road. With routine maintenance, your car ought to be good for another 150,000+ miles.
