A manifold cover would be something like a heat shield for the exhaust, all the stock headers have them on our cars. But saying manifold cover isnt really a term that people use.

Don't worry about it... we all started out somewhere. If you do want to learn what and how things work on your car, pick up a Haynes car manual and read it. Lots of good stuff in there to get ya car savy. Plus it might save you a pretty penny when it comes time to do some general maintenance .
