Wanting to do some upgrading
Wanting to do some upgrading
ok im tried of not being able to push my car enough, im looking for something to give me a little more torque, something to help my acceleration, and something to raise my overall speed, can someone help me, also can someone tell me how i can tell if i still have a restraint chip in my car and how i can take it out
Re: Wanting to do some upgrading
my suggestions...although im not sure what you all have?
- CAI approx 10HP
- Upgrade the exhaust system to atleast 2.25"
- Headers or downpipe
- Lightened flywheel, this loses TQ but gives you more avail HP
- CLutch to hook it all up
- More expansive gains are boosting, Hondata, cams, etc...
all depends on what a guy wants?

Re: Wanting to do some upgrading
well if you want some mild mods,
intake
catback exhaust
header
hi flow cat
and electronics like fuel/cam tuning
but it gets expensive for not much power increase. im sure they make parts for older civics so just gotta see whats out there. i have all the basic boltons and my car doesnt feel any faster. also keep the car light by removing heavy stuff that you dont need, and use lightweight forged rims with small diameter.

I think your view of computer upgrades is skewed a little. You aren't going to get much out of these little Honda engines like you would a big *** diesel engine. Be happy with your great gas mileage and upgrade your suspension. Thats where the fun is in civics.

Re: Wanting to do some upgrading
actually, there have been dynos on a stock s2000 w/ colder plugs on emanage that show a gain 20-30hp and 40tq across the powerband. so all 4 cylinders arent made equally
as for you D series motor, i suggest you boost it. You can find a full kit for under 3000. Its very cheap to boost a older D series motor.
