Steering wheel slightly tunred when driving straight
Hello,
I hope this isn't a problem but I've noticed that when I'm driving straight, that my steering wheel isn't in-line like is should be. Picture your steering wheel straight and then turn it 5 degrees or so - a slight turn ... this is how mine is when I'm driving! Eeeek! It's not really that noticeable but it still bugs me and I know it shouldn't be like this. I know it wasn't this way when I first bought the car. Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this and re-align it or know if this is bad for my car or not? Thanks for any help.

Re: Steering wheel slightly tunred when driving straight
You need a steering alignment. Unless it is TERRIBLY off, I can't see it really having any negative affect (unless its caused by an offset wheel). You can get a steering alignment for rather cheap from just about anywhere with a service dept. (gas station to dealership)

^^^ Yep. I just did mine yesterday. It took me all of 20 minutes once I got it up on the lift. Don't pay more the $50 for a front-end alignment, they don't take long and any shop with a lift, some wheel plates, and the equipment can do it.
Re: Steering wheel slightly tunred when driving straight
Thanks guys! I'll definately look into it. You know, now that I think about it, I did have a tire replaced (Rear passenger side). If this new tire was slightly taller, then in theory, it is offset, like you mentioned laopse and would support the fact that my steering wheel is slightly turned to the right.
Thanks again guys.
Thanks again guys.
