Small chips in windshield
I have lived in Chicago for 28 years of my life. I moved to Virginia last year, and I have noticed that my car gets messed up here more that it does in Chicago. It upsets me. I am very meticulous about keeping my car in top condition. I owned a 99 Firebird in Chicago, and I loved it. But I did abuse it and started having engine problems (I threw a rod! - hey, I was young and stoopid then). So I bought a 04 Civic LX. Anyways, I drove it there for 3 years and it was fine. I brought it here and immediately I noticed door dings on both sides. Its like people just fling their door open and don't care what they hit. </end rant>
Sorry bout that. To get to my point, I have very small chips in my windshield from pebbles and debris constantly hitting the car. It looks as if the windshield is dirty, but I have cleaned it with many types of cleaners and it looks the same. It is so bad that when I am driving towards the sun, I scatters the light and makes everything very blurry. Is there anything I can use to fill up those chips? I remember hear of a product like this, but not sure if it exists or not. The only other option would be to replace the windshield after a couple of years.

Walmart, Autozone, Pepboys or O'Reilys should have some windshield repair stuff. I think its like some kinda paste you inject into the crack or chip and it prevents it from getting bigger.

Re: Small chips in windshield
I think you should just chuck it and get a new windshield....
www.safelite.com has the best prices, and they might service your area. They come out to you and replace the glass. I've used them twice because of the good price. Anyways. I think you'll thank yourself later if you just get it replaced instead of gettin mad when you can't see through it.

They do mark up quickly IMO. Really shows if the sun is right.
The one in my 05 caught a rock near the edge and is cracked already !!
I was qouted $185 + tx by a local company, Now just trying to decide if I want to make another insurance claim on a windshield or not. Most Japanese cars are known to need frequent replacements.
