i just got an aluminum cylinde head off of a 95 civic, its vtec. it has a lot of carbon buildup on it. i was talking to this guy, and he said the best way to get rid of it is to dip it in solution. my question is, this solution, what is it, and, can you dip alumunim into it, or is it risky? thanks

im sure the solution is some kind of parts cleaner my dad's shop has one it sort of smells like that GUNK engine cleaner stuff. How much are they going to charge you to do that because my head had the same buildup on it and all I did was take it to Napa and they cleaned it with a wet jet, pressure tested it, warp tested it and lubed up my cam and rockers for $35

i didnt ask anyone how much they would do it for, i thought i could do it myself, cause all you have to do is dip it and than take it out n scrub it rite? and if i could get a name to this solution thing, that would be helpful so i know wat to go and buy.

Stuff is called Piston Kleen and you soak your carboned up parts in it for 2 - 24 hours to remove the build up.
