Engine Light

Hello, a few weeks ago my engine light came on in my 98 civic lx. If I put the clutch in when either taking a turn or decellerating for any period of time, the car stalls - i have to pop it into neutral immediately and although it idles very very weak, the car does not stall. The car always runs strong for the first few minutes of driving, but when it heats up, the stalling issue begins. I have also noticed as of late a noise that almost sounds like static electricity (tick....... tick..... tick) behind the dash.
So far I have changed the distributor cap, change the plugs and wires, changed the fuel filter, and cleaned the fuel injection system - while all have improved performance to some degree, none have gotten the engine light to go off or solved the stalling problem - any ideas??

that reminds me

if you are having the problem with the ignitor, you should go onto honda and register, the ignitor costs about 200 bucks in most places, when i put my vin in, i saw that my 98 was covered by a recall in 2001, i called the dealership, gave them my vin, and they took the car and put a new ignitor in it for nothing.

Ground cable

If you had a carburetor, I'd check the float level...
Back to the recent likelihood.

Check your ground strap cable between the engine and the body. If this is not a perfect ground, it will prevent the voltage from peaking sufficiently to fire the sparkplugs.
