New car

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for a new car and I was wondering if a Honda Civic is right for me. I travel fairly frequently so I would need something reliable with good MPG. I'm looking into something around $25,000 or less. Any information you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Well the 06 Civic is perfect for you as they can be bought for less than that.
If you dont want a brand new one, seek out something 2nd hand with just a few miles on it, that way you can save a few thousand $$.

That would be great. can you give me a few specs on it, or maybe some suggestions as to what to look for in it?

It depends on what your looking for , if your looking for fuel economy they have the 06 civic hybrid or even the regular sedan. I actually prefer the sedan over the coupe as far as looks go, plus it has more room. If your more into speed the 06 SI is the only way to go.
Hybrid: 47 city/ 50 highway not sure on price
Sedan: 30 city/ 38 highway base price $17,000
coupe: 30 city/ 38 highway base price $15,000
SI: 22 city/ 31 highway base price $20,000

Hope this helps you. Good luck.

The coupe seems to surprisingly give better value for money than the sedan, I would think the sedan would be more economical.

I love the Hybrid but its a tad expensive.
It really depends how big of a car you want.

Thanks for the help you guys. I'm really thinking of a hybrid now, even though it will probably be a while before I actually get it. The mpg is pretty stunning - that would help my gas bills a bit.

Probably would set it back to about as much as I was spending on gas 20 years ago. :P

Doubt it, its not that cheap

We still dont know how reliable these cars are. They are new on the market so I would wait a few years and see how this first generation go, or else you might end up making that cost up in mechanical repairs (unlikely but you never know, these are new cars).

Yeah that's a good idea. I probably don't want to get one when they're still new, especially as I'm going to need this car soon and there will most likely be a waiting list for a hybrid.

Is there a waiting list? havent heard of that.

The only cars I've ever heard of having waiting lists are Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and other expensive sports cars

Yeah well with the first few hybrids that came out I believe there was a very long waiting list, at least from what I heard. I'll probably be going with the 06 Civic or something.

I would not have recommended previous years for your kind of general use. Might have went with the Accord.

The 2006 though is hot for that kind of generic utility, so I think it is definately a good option.
