What brakes?

What brakes would you chooes for an upgrade?
I realise brake upgrades arent required for a stock car, but I know someone in the industry so I figure why not.

Im looking at Brembo's. This brand is used on Skyine GTR's, Ferrari's and other great cars so they are awesome brakes.

imported_raven can only hope to improve
brakes

I would definatley go with the Brembos. Sure, its a stock car, but if your going to use your money, why not use it on something worthwhile?

Btw...ducati, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes Benz also use Brembos.

First off , what kind of car do you have? Secondly are you looking to just upgrade the rotors and the pads or are you looking to do a complete big brake kit with upgraded calipers and stainless steel brake lines as well as the pads and rotors because there is a huge difference in price.

And if you are going brake pads as well which I would assume you will, I recommend EBC red stuff or green stuff. I think green stuff suit street cars more from memory.

I don't think they sell just upgraded calipers, and if they do I've never seen them. Other than installing a big brake kit the only place i've seen that sells just aftermarket calipers is Pep Boys, they have them in either red or yellow. As far as the pads and rotors I would suggest either the EBC green stuff or Hawk brake pads and for the rotors either EBC or Powerslot

I didnt know EBC sold rotors, thought they just did the pads.
Which would you choose between EBC and Powerslot for rotors?

Honestly, when I change my rotors again I'm gonna go with the Powerslot rotors and the EBC brake pads. I have Hawk brake pads now, nothing wrong with them, they work well and have lasted a long time with no problems even though i'm pretty tough on the brakes, I just want to try something new.

Whats the diff between EBC green and red?
Red is more for racing purposes right, they take longer to warm up?

Brembo is the goods, but if your looking for something of quality and not to expensive (>2000$) id go with wilwood.

The EBC pads kickass, but if you drive on the street go with the green as they are semimettalic, while the red are full metallic. The ebc red are really harsh, grind when you slow down, but they work DAMN well. The red are pretty much strictly for track/autox cars, if you drive on the street at all i'h highly suggest the green ones as they are way more street friendly.
