I have a B16a Civic, but of course I find it a little sluggish at times and I often wish for more power.

In your opinions, should I save up for a turbo kit and hook all that up, or just upgrade everything a bit at a time and have a killer N/A?

Depends what you want really. Turbo's give a nice rush but an NA Honda thats worked sounds out of this world.
Personally I love an NA VTEC engine - and I'd go for that anyday over a turbo.

but if you want the turbo sound and more power, then go that route instead.

Oh man you guys, if you want to save up 2500 or better turbo your car. A good turbo setup will easily cost you over 3k after you get forged pistons, rods, valve springs a retainers, turbo, downpipe, manifold, bov, flanges, and all that good stuff. My car is all motor and probably has around 5k or better in mods. But i like that because i dont have to worry about it breaking.

I think most turbo packages are over-rated. They will give you slight acceleration but no real top end improvement and you will have a lot of wear and tear on some parts. It is likely you will be replacing your transmission much sooner, for example.

heh turbo's give more than just slight acceleration.. more like a big kick in the pants and head back in the seat.

As for upgrading internals when you turbocharge the car, yes you should do it I know and its pricey.
You CAN do the upgrade without internal upgrades I know, but I realise the car will not last very long like this.

Not only will it not last very long but you would be limited to running 8-12 psi with a small turbo only putting out low 200 whp. With forged internals depending on what you had you could be runnin 15-22 psi and make like mid 350 whp with a more efficient turbo.

No way you modding yourself to 350 whp for anything less than a huge amount of money.

I could make my car fly if I spent enough money on it.

either way you go your looking to spend a good amount of money. If you know what you are doing you can piece a turbo system together out of salvage parts.. less expensive.. and you can run stock internals with a low boost system and be fine. the problem with running stock internals is that the "speed bug" bites you and and people will normally go crazy with the boost pressure and that's where you get into trouble. think of it like this ...car manufacturers don't spend extra money on an engine that comes stock w/ turbo. all the engines are the same ie. no upgraded internals, head gaskets, nothing to help the engine out at all. still they run just fine as long as you don't do anything dumb like try and add more boost to a designed system.. Buying newwould be your best bet and most aftermarket places will help you with what you need (if you build it up or keep it stock)..

Right there your at 5 grand, that is a huge amount of money and it can be done.

5k isnt a huge amount of money. What can you get for 5k?
An old bomb car. Or you could build yourself a virtually brand new engine that will probably last you for 10 years.
In that sense 5k is nothing.
