switching from blended to full synthetic oil

Hi civic owners,
New member here . Found this forum helpful and informative.
My 2010 civic coupe LX 1.8 with 74k plus miles using blended oil for years from my mechanic's shop. For this coming oil change, I'm thinking of switching to Mobil 1 Advanced Full synthetic 5w20. My oil cap says 5w20. My mechanic says once I started with Full synthetic I would just keep using Full synthetic. I'm I making the right direction towards Mobil1 Advanced Full synthetic? Hoping for your good advise.

Thank you so much!

If you want to spend the extra money go for it.

Re: switching from blended to full synthetic oil

Synthetic oil usually offers better wear protection which also means you can go longer between oil changes. Honestly, if you stay on top of the maintenance the engine will last a long time no matter what oil you use.
