Civic LX 2009 Oil Grade
Civic LX 2009 Oil Grade
Hi
I have attached a snapshot from my Civic 2009 LX 1.8 manual, it's the recommended oil for my car!
But I really cannot understand this chart, it's not clear!
Please help me find which one it means is good for me?
* Note that I live in Dubai, always hot, the temperature never goes below 0 C
How do you read this chart?!
Thank you.

That charts really confusing, I can't make sense of it either..
Have you considered asking a local mechanic for a suggestion on what you should run?

Re: Civic LX 2009 Oil Grade
That chart shows the oil weight that is recommended at a certain temP. So for example at 0c any of the weights work. And anything below -20 only the oils in the top two bars are recommended.
If you live In Dubai, and it rarely never drops below 0 then use a 5w-30.
Just make sure the 2nd number is at least 30. The first numbe doesn't really matter cuz it deals with cold starts. Don't go lower than 5w tho
