Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

Is Castrol Magnetic 10-40 good for Civic 2009? I live in Dubai, so it's always warm or hot!

Re: Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

If it is mostly hot where you are you should run 5w30. Castrol is good oil to use.

Re: Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

They stated the oil weight in the manual differently. For example, Thai people use 10W-30 sometimes 10W-40 for many generations of civics. Some even use 0W-50

I guess there should be no problem.

Re: Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

THIS IS THE ALL EXPLANATION ABOUT WICH OIL YOU SHOULD USE OR NOT BUT YOU KNOW WAHT IS IN SPANISH

IN THE US WEBSITE FROM CASTROL IS NOT THERE ONLY IN MEXICOS ONE

Re: Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

Hi and thank you everybody

gearbox: It's 1.8.
jsmithe2010: Gas is cheap here, however it still depends.

So I finally couldn't find which one to use in hot weather
Sorry but English is not my primary language, so you recommend 10-40 or 20-50?

Re: Castrol Magnetic 10-40?

Use what your owner's manual calls for. If it calls for 10w40 I would use 10w40.
