D16Y8 Distributor O-Ring

D16Y8 Distributor O-Ring
I changed the o-ring on the distributor shaft and noticed how small it was in width compared to the available space. Is that normal? Most o-rings I have seen fit pretty snug in the milled down section that fit in.
