Rep Power: 0 Burnt Oil + Power Steering Fluid. Need Help!
So, yesterday, I went to change my oil at a BP Castrol Oil Change place. The mechanic there said that my oil was burnt and so was my power steering fluid. He said I need to "flush" my oil system and what not and that'll fix the problem. So he then proceed to say "do you want the flush", and I said no, because looking at the price, it was $60 for it and I wasn't going to pay for something I might not need. The oil looked pretty black.
My question here is that, was he trying to sell me something I don't need or do I really need to flush my oil and change my power steering fluid? I figure I'd come here to ask for help first before going to a mechanic.

Rep Power: 364 I'd def do it if it was only 60 bucks. 60 bucks now, verses much more later- invest in it buddy- its your engine and you only got one of them for now. If you can find an engine for less then 60 bucks then forget about flushing the system.
On another note, your oil shouldnt be black- thats bad news. As for the power steering, I had mine done and the steering felt much better afterwards.
I saw get it done. If your a casanova with the wrench- then try to figure out how to do it yourself if thats possible, but honestly just take the bill up the tailpipe and drive away.
