Best Place to Jack up front of car...

and to put 2 jack stands in front...what would be the strongest point from the front of the car, cause i dont want to wiggle on the sides putting each side up...

and for those of you with 5mt, did you put something like stoppers on your rear wheels just in case?

Try that the ridge there runs from front to back. It has to be strong enough to support the car when it's put on racks. Just take it easy and you won't bend anything.

Do one side at a time.

nah it bends very easily...there has to be a place toward the front of the car that is strong enough, such as the tow hook?

you jack at the jack points and use the ridge along the side of the car. It should not bend, except at the edges near the wheels.

Front of car Rear of car
Wheel - jack - jack stand jack stand - jack - wheel

sounds like a good method.

The V in the stands will keep the ridge from bending unless you really screw things up.

There's a center jack point in the front of the car. Get under the car and you'll see an arrow on the plastic that points directly at it. It's right in the middle, maybe 1.5 in by 3 in. Jack from there, put the stands under the jack points that robbclark documented, and drop the jack.

I don't know how could of an idea that would be. The tow hooks are made to be put into tension, not compression. The shear values may be harmful.

IOW, they're made to be pulled on and not pushed on.

There has to be someone here that can help you get around that.

It's strange then how Honda specifies the tow hook as the rear jack point...

I always jack up the back as described HERE.

Yes! That is a much better way to jack up the rear!

Also, if Honda does specify the rear tow hook as a jack point then it must be good. They know the shear values the hook will recieve when put into compression like that.

I would still rather do it they way your illustration showed. That's a reall beefy area with nothing to worry about.

ok
1st off, use the OEM jack to get the car high enough to jack up the car with the real jack.

Secondly, you CAN use the tow hook as a jaking point, however, if you have a little jack, then they usually DO NOT go high enough to put stands underneath.

I use the point in the front, works fine. I use th ehook in the rear, works fine. Ihave to use the oem jack to get the car up high enough for the real jack though. My car/IC is too low. Than pop the jackstands under there, and drop the car slowly.
