The HAMP is made by the same people who manufactured the old S2000 filters. A company called Toyo Roki. And the HAMP filter has metal ends, they use better quality filter paper and have one of the best bypass valves in the filter industry. I dont really care if its JDM or USDM as long as it keeps my engine's oil clean. I actually use another oil filter made here in the US, But I wouldnt mind using a HAMP filter. They are only about $8.00 anyway.
