Speaker help for 2001 LX Coupe

Hi,

I want a nice sound system for my civic but I don't really know what I should get. I want something with great sound for a good price. I'm willing to spend a pretty penny.

Any suggestions?

It's really all about what brand you prefer. Generally the more money you spend the better sound quality you will get. Some good brands are; Infinity, Alpine, Pioneere, Kenwood, JVC, JBL, Sony. There are more but I like Alpine and Infinity. I have an Alpine deck and Infinity sub and think they are great. I have had Sony speakers and those were good also along with Pioneere subs that hit good.

Look at a Pioneer or Alpine deck.
Amps, depends on where you want to mount them. If space is a premium, then look at the new digital amps. I have the Alpine PDX series. A lot of power in a small package. JL also make some nice ones.
Speakers, not even sure where to begin. Almost all major brands make some nice stuff. Depends on what you want to spend. A really good set will start at $300 a pair and go into the thousands.
Subs, JL, Rockford, Memphis, Diamond, Alpine. Again, here $ really make a difference in quality.
Best thing to do is go to your local audio shop and listen and see what you like. Speakers sound different to each person and the sound I like may bother your ears.

Kenwood doesnt get a lot of recognition but ive had a kenwood hu for the last two years and it's very good. Fosgate makes nice amps along with the ones tigger mentioned. The JL audio w7 is a very good subwoofer if you can afford it.

A W7 is simply overkill for a 7th gen.
I probably wouldn't go more than a W3v3

What is your budget looking like?

My budget is about 500 for 4 speakers and amp, I'm going to get a subwoofer later. If that's too little of an amount for great quality speakers then I would be willing to put more into it. If y'all could link some specific options that would be great as well. Also, would the speakers in the front door be the same size as the ones in the back?

I'm not very knowledgable in car audio so pretty much any help would be awesome!

Re: Speaker help for 2001 LX Coupe

Depends on how you prepare your car, if the whole things dynamatted and insulated it would be fine but you'd also need strong speakers to compensate.....and a stronger amp......and then youd probably need a bigger alternator..................maybe it is a little bit of overkill but he did ask for great sound

Check out sonicelectronix.com for your amp/speaker needs. Speaker size depends on if you have a sedan or coupe.

Sedan- 6.5" all around

Coupe- 6.5" for the front
6 x 9" in the rear
