does half an inch and a pound or two make a difference?

i'm trying to decide on a wheel for autocross. i'm looking at the rota slipstream and the grid.
i probably want to get a 15" wheel. but the thing is, i don't think the grid comes in a 7" width without bumping up to a 16" rim. the slips have a 15x7 available. the slips are also lighter weight. does the extra pound or two and the half of an inch wider wheel actually help that much in autocross?

Same course, same car, I've seen a 15X7 be worth a second or more vs a 15X6.5 But it also depends on the tire You run.

for the weight... every oz. counts, and increasing the diamiter of the wheel will only add to its Rotational inertia... so even if the 15 and 16 were the same weight, the 15 will still be faster.
