Colbalt GTS If you want to drive to the Track on them, Colbalt Spec-VR if you want to swap pads at the track. (technicaly you could drive the VR's to the track, but they dont bite too well when they are cold.
Cobalt GT-Sport:
# oefficient of Friction: 0.48mu
# Optimal Temperature Range: 75F-950F
VR:
Coefficient of Friction: 0.65mu • Optimal Temperature Range: 400F-1450F • Fade-Critical: 1550-1600F KEY FEATURES • Extremely strong initial bite • Excellent modulation and release • Virtually flat torque curve over optimal operating temp. range BENEFITS • Consistent, predictable braking performance • Unparalleled fade resistance & recovery times • Excellent wear rates Recomended for Race/Track use only
BTW, when I was last shopping for pads, I found out that Our front pads are the same as the S2000's Rear pads... Wierd (Honda likes to share parts between chassis I guess)

My Axxis Ultimates were fairly fade resistant over a day at the track.... honestly, I didn't have problems until they cooled down on the 3 hour drive home... then they got a little whimpy, but came back a few days later. Best of all they're CHEAP.
On the other hand, I've heard nothing bad about Cobalt pads, a lot of people swear by them, GT Sports are supposed to be a good pad for occasional track use.

I plan on swapping them out at the track so they'll only be used for track days. no daily usage. My friend recommended Carbotech's anyone have experience with them?

Never used them, but if you go over to H-T, type Carbotech into the search function and search the Road Race/AutoX archives, you should find any answer you want (I've already done it).
Anyone know the temp. range for the STOCK pads? EM2/EP3 uses the same one's I think....
I just want to compare stock v. Cobalt/HP+/etc. 'cause I only get bad brakes AFTER the AutoX events, lol...so I'm just curious right now.

I would guess they're not good to much more than 500 or 600 degrees. I guess I can test it out, I still have a set of 1/2 gone stock pads, but I don't know if I want to risk barreling towards a corner at 90 to find they glaze over at some incredibly low temp.
We pyrometered my brakes after a 15 minute session on the track, Rotors were 600+ (exceeded pyrometer scale), wheel spokes were 233 and tires were at 164.
Most agressive street/light track use pads are good for 900-1050 degrees (Ultimates, GT Sports, HP+, etc.....) and its enough to do track days on.
