Camber & Crash Bolt Confusion
Camber & Crash Bolt Confusion
Well, I tried to install my 16mm "service" bolts in my 04 today, but surprise surprise, the thinner 14mm center section is not wide enough to go all the way through the knuckle. The shape might help to squeeze through some misaligned strut holes I suppose, but it's not going to give any slop for camber adjustment. Rats.
There also seems to be almost no clearance (less than .020 maybe) between the back of the knuckle and the strut body so I don't see how anyone could even install an Ingalls bolt in the top hole and get any negative camber movement. Am I missing something or maybe the 03/04 different?
As if this wasn't bad enough, I used a bubble level to do a crude static camber check; back has some negative and front has some postitive. Ugh.
