I'm getting bored, I need another project
I hate having a finished car.
There so few things I can do that are worthwhile anymore, I may be tempted to do them.
My suspension is basically done. At least for now. The only thing I want to try is taking 75 lbs off the front spring rates, but not now. I want something I can do now that will make some difference. I need something I can do research on and play with. I have my Defi thing, which is fun, but it just tells me all the info I want, I doesn't let me do anything with it. Anyone got any good ideas?
You're all aware of my laundry list of mods, I'm running low on things to do.
I thought about playing with the computer. If I can get 5 HP by fooling the computer, I might be happy (thats about a 4% improvement), but thats all i can think of, and no one as of yet has really tried to get much from it as far as autocross goes. It may not make big power, but I may try getting something other than power from it (like a fatter curve).
Anyone have anything worthwhile I can still STS-legally do? Driving school doesn't count, I've got that one covered already.

Get an F125 Kart......
I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I've reached the point were I could dump a grand more in to the suspension and only shave off a few tenths.... Is it worth it? Especially if I want to run at the nationals and win?? Really, noting I do to this car will allow me to beat The guys running 89 Si's... So its eather tweak the car even more, and wish I could tow the car to events (And still just come in Second) OR.... Find some thing else to run... like maybe a lil Si?? and run it at Topeka???? or get a Kart and run Solo2 as well as local Track events???

Ya know what?
I've been thinkin' of doin' that Radio Shack resistor thing in the intake sensor at an AutoX event....
Maybe you should try that? It's cheap, easy, and quick....and supposed to produce pretty decent gains.....
I dunno...just a suggestion.
BTW...if you REALLY want a project....you could come help me tweak my BC's! lol j/k

If he was building the car for Wheel to wheel racing, and needed the extra thermal capacity, sure. for autocross and street driving... there are better things to spend his $$ on. (like another set of Race tires)

are you talking about the IAT sensor ???
If so, that won't give you gains.

Basically, the IAT sensor works off of the incoming air temp.
Warmer air is less dense and has less oxygen, therefor it needs less fuel to burn.
Colder air is denser and has more oxygen, in turn the obd II computers send more fuel.
The radio shack resistor DIY, tricks the sensor into believing that it is cold.

1. Its too expensive
2. If I built a road race car, I don't have an autocross car.
You get pretty far up the autox classes once you've got a stripped and caged car. I'm gonna keep doing the weekend track days, but its gonna be a while before I start doing w2w stuff.

Why dont you go find an 89 SI or a below 94 Miata & start over?? Keep your civic as your daily driver.
Thats what im doing within the next few months, except me & my fiance/wife at the time will be switching off daily driving it & the civic till we pay off the civic.
