New to Civics' Hybrids and more

Hey Gentlemen,
I'm in the process of picking up an 05 hybrid 5 spd. This is going to be my daily/work vehicle as I have a ford ranger turbo swap i'm working on. I'm familiar with maintaining an automobile but wasn't sure if there was anything different in regards to the hybrid model?

Also, How would one get the best mileage out of their hybrid? Stats show it can get 46-City and 51-Highway, but i'd imagine this is when the vehicle is under the best possible conditions with fluids, driving conditions and habits etc.

I know someone is gonna get on my case about my project, i'm a newbie so take it easy for a little lol

Take care of the broken and worn stuff, change fluids. Regular things any car would need if you care about it.
Honda has their own manual trans fluid.

There's really nothing you need to do for the hybrid stuff until it needs the big battery replaced.
