RedDawn has arrived.
RedDawn has arrived.
Hello Civic owners! I am proud to be the new owner of a Rallye Red 7th gen Civic coupe. I searched the forums before joining and found out a bunch of helpful info such as: wheel and tire sizes which fit the 7th gen civics, license plate bolts, CAI info and paint codes. I am familiar with the vBulletin setup as it is the same as other forums of which I am a member, and I am well versed in the use of the search function, so hopefully there won't be too many new threads created by me (with the exception of this one, of course).
I bought the civic primarily for its excellent fuel economy, however I take pride in my vehicles so I will be trying to improve its performance and looks as well.
03 Civic LX Rallye Red coupe
black interior
Generic aluminum CAI downpipe with K&N Filter
15x6 wheels (on order)
crystal clear JDM headlights (on order)
I'll post some before and after pictures once I receive and install the new wheels and headlights, since it is currently very stock with hubcaps and fogged headlights

It's great to have a new member with a good understanding of forums, a little less frustration for us
Post some pics once you get the new wheels and headlights in!

Re: RedDawn has arrived.
The pictures are a little late, but here they are as promised.
Specs:
D17 non v-tec
5spd manual (I'm so happy to finally own a car with a real transmission!)
K&N short ram air intake
window tint
Clifford Alarm
Alpine speakers and tweeters
Sport Tuning T6 15x6 wheels
195/60R15 Goodyear Eagle GT tires
JDM crystal headlights
HID 8000k headlights

Hmm...I should have bought the required 7443na bulbs and 8000k HID lamps before taking the car apart.

Re: RedDawn has arrived.
Looks very nice, now all you need is a drop
At first, i looked at the details, then the first pic...
i was totally like "those are stock rims, and those arent crystal headlights..."
Then i was like "oh...got it" XD

Trouble code
Just an update after 300 miles. I had a P1457 trouble code (evap system fault) but I was able to fix it by reattaching a soft line (rubber) to a hard line (plastic or metal) going to the evap canister located behind the gas tank. I love the search feature since I was able to find what I was looking for in a matter of minutes rather than taking it to a shop or consulting the Haynes manual.
The Goodyear Eagle GTs are definitely better on NVH now that they have over 50 miles on them, but still not as refined as the michelins, though they do have much better grip and are on 15" wheels vs the michelins which were on 14" wheels.
The HID lights were an unexpected surprise, as they are much better than the stock headlights and even better than the 55w aux pencil beams on my offroad vehicle.
I'll try and post some more pics this weekend of the interior and such when I'm off work.
