New to the forums! New civic! (for me :D)
Hello everyone!
Names Ethan but you guys can call me Dags. Have been looking for a reliable Civic forum and it looks like I have found it! Glad to be here.
So I bought my first car. I've owned other vehicles but this is the first one I have ever personally financed. 2001 Honda Civic Ex. So far I must say I am absolutely in love with the car. Had a few issues with alignment, ect (and a shady shop convincing my poor 70 year old polish grandmother (who was nice enough to take it to get an alignment while I was out of state) that all four struts were very badly damaged, and needed to be replaced at the total part and labor cost of about 1200 dollars..yeah anyone know anything I could do about that one?) I haven't had any really major issues so far.
The car does have some minor problems, and while its got a few aftermarket parts on it, I'm truly looking to turn this into my track baby someday. Problem is I need to learn more!
Which is why I'm here. So anyways Ill stop taking up webspace over here and head over to the 7th gen forums and start asking away!
Just wanted to pop by and say hello. OH! And anyone based out of Phoenix or the surrounding area? I'm new to the area (as of recent, used to live here before) and honestly don't really know anyone. It would benice to find another Civic owner I can bounce ideas off of, and ask questions to irl instead of on here..ha.

Looks good. Welcome aboard. Don't know if you can do anything about the shop getting over on your grandma. A shop did the same thing to my girlfriend. Got hosed for new brakes and some "fuel injection service", which I'm pretty sure was just a bottle of Chevron. If they did anything, it sure as hell didn't feel like it. Anyway, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Welcome to the site
Damaged struts are a great excuse to upgrade and unless you buy something very high end it will definitely cost you less than $1200 with our help

1200 for the struts?!? rip off...
there is a good DIY for spring change, could be used for the strut change. definitely check there.

welcome!
KYB GR2's (stock replacement) or tokiko blues (handle lowering/stiffer springs) at the least.
save for other potential issues - see me sig for suspension stuff.
