A Jeeper Buying a CRX tomorrow
A Jeeper Buying a CRX tomorrow
Hello.
My name is Dave and while I am an avid Jeeper - I have always had a soft spot for Honda CRXsi's. I drove one as a teenager with my buddy who bought it brought new and always said I'd get one.
Now, I work doing home health and drive about 100 miles a day. A heavily lifted Jeep with 5.13 gears and 37" 100+ lb tires is NOT the ideal vehicle. So tomorrow I am looking at a CRX si w/ 138,000 original miles on it and I figure I'll need a good resource and this looks like a good place. The car is damn near stock w/ the exception of the catback exhaust (which I will be tearing off and selling) and a CAI which I will keep.
Most of all - I'm gonna need to know where I can harvest parts. I just did some studying and learning bout the D16 and now I need to learn what other Civics etc. have the same engine as I am going to rebuild the AC system, replace the radiator, and maybe harvest some other spare parts like alternators, starters, etc.
My name is Dave. Not new to forums and I like to babble.
No pics of my CRX as I am buying (likely) tomorrow. BUT - here is my other baby:

and bone stock:

Will post pics of the new car when I get it.

Re: A Jeeper Buying a CRX tomorrow
Welcome and the jeep looks good man. My inlaw has a newer jepp that is jacked up and does some off roading with it and its the ****. I love going with him off roading in that thing. I would like to get me an old suzuki samari cause those are really good off roading when modded up.
But nice pick up on the c-rex as I call them lol. Hope it turns out a good car for you and was kept good care of. Cant wait to see the pics. And a good place to get parts is of majestic honda.com. Its honda parts for alittle cheaper but there are also alot of other places to find parts. You can go to salvage yards and find parts as well if your looking for stock parts of course. You are looking for stock oem parts right.

Re: A Jeeper Buying a CRX tomorrow
Yeah stock is all I want. I'm going to be selling all the aftermarket stuff on the CRX as it is. Which isnt much - mostly the exhaust system.
I'll check out majestic - thanks for the pointer. That's why I love forums.
And yeah, a Zuki is a badass trail rig and EASY to work on. You can dismantle about 90% of a zuki w/ a 1/2" socket wrench and a screw driver.
