Talking My First Car :D

Hi guys, a few weeks ago I bought my first car A 2005 Honda Civic LX Sedan Silver with 100k miles

It isn't anything spectacular... yet... but I got it for $4,900 out the door with all new belts and fluids. (My dad is a manager at Clinton Honda in NJ)

Until this purchase I was lucky enough to have my dads 2007 Ridgeline.

Naturally the first thing I noticed was the lack of a quality sound system in the Civic so I am currently in the process of upgrading. (See my purchase list below
Head unit
Pioneer AVIC-f700bt (GPS, iPod control, hands free)
Sub Woofer
2X - Rockford Fosgate - P3D412 (12Inch, 100-500Watt RMS, 1000Watt Peak)
Sub Woofer Box
Bassworx HSR212
Front Speakers
Infinity REF6020cs
Rear Speakers
Infinity REF6022i
Sub Amp
Rockford Fosgate - P1001bd
Speaker Amp
Infinity REF475a

Retail: $2625
My Price: $1180
I would love to get some comments and suggestions on this stuff. After this is done and pay off my credit, my next steps are to get some stock Honda rims (I hate hub caps), then do some light engine performance. Eventually I need to get the front bumper replaced (previous owner managed to put a fist sized hole in it).

Oh and it is an automatic (I know it doesn't get any lower than a non Vtec automatic sedan in most of your eyes) :P

PS: My very first purchase for my civic was a shiny new Valentine 1

Re: My First Car :D

Welcome and congrats. U got a heck of a deal on that civic as they go for $10,000++ for a 05 with 100K miles.

In my opinion the OEM sound system for 05 LX is very decent, afterall ur not gonna spend a whole day in ur car, therefore put that money towards a nice Home Theater instead, but I guess everyone has their own taste.

My only suggestion is Not to Rice it out. Keep it simple and clean.

- Get a Nice Exhaust like Greddys/Megan/HKS/Tanabe etc.... (Not Fartballs)
- Get a Decent Intake like AEM/Injen
- Please Don't go over 17" for Rims, and avoid Chrome as u said Stock Honda Rims, they are very wise choice.
- Give it a 1"-1.5" Drop
- Decent Lip Kits (Avoid Body Kits)
- Decent HID's like 6K-8K or projectors if can afford it.

Possibilities are endless, but as I said keep it simple!

Re: My First Car :D

I am a big A/V guy so my home theater is all ready pretty sweet (Denon 5803, Toshiba 62" rear projection, 6.1 Aperion surround, PS3, Wii, 360, DTV HR20,Miller Kreisel MX-125 ($1,200) Sub.

The down side to that is I live in a house with a step mother and a step grand mother whom both aren't big fans of loud stuff nor is my dad of Lil' Wayne. So the car is my sort of music get away.

I really want to keep the car as stock looking as possible to keep my nice sound equipment inside and not out a broken window.

I am planning on going to Autozone and picking up some inexpensive Silverstone Ultras for like $40.

I was also toying with getting an SI spoiler with the breaklight after I modify the intake.
