new honda owner
Hey everyone my brother and I just picked up a 89 civic. We are doing a motor swap in it. I joined to see if you guys could give me some pointers.
We are swapping in a D16 motor. right now it has the d15. We are planning on throwing on a turbo. Basically we are looking to make around 300 horse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are looking at a bare block. This will be our first civic, as we before have made some serious power with talons, turbo dodges, and mustangs. Therefore, it will be a little different.

make sure you build the motor for boost first (lower compression, new rods, pistons, valves, etc) and tune it properly.

Re: new honda owner
I prefer to get a virgin motor with around 20 or 30k on it to start building. From there it makes thing so much easier to build because you wont be looking for parts like cranks, bearings, etc that are hard to come by individually.
