But in January 07, I thought the Nissan was on the way out. Rather than be caught without a car, I got a 2007 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. My plan was to keep driving the Altima to work and not spend any money on it till it died. Guess what? It's still going very strong and is the perfect "Ghetto Beater" to drive to the Bronx in.
I use the Subi for casual trips around town and going out with the wife and daughter. It only costs me about $500 extra in insurance to keep the Altima on the road and that about evens out in the end with the increased gas mileage the Nissan gets over the Subaru (I drive about 20,000 miles a year).
I still miss my Civic though after all that time. She was a 2001 (bought new August 10th, 2001) and hadn't reached her 4 year birthday when she was murdered by a Chevy Yukon on July 4th, 2005. She was a 2 door, 5 speed in white. RIP sweetie!

Nothing major, just changed the wheels/tires and stereo and had a Ravelco anti-theft installed.
You know what? When I had good snow tires on the Civic, it was just as good driving in snow as the AWD Subi. I love driving in snow storms. But that's a conversation for a different thread.
