Hello Civic Peeps
Hello Civic Peeps
I learned to drive a standard in my 1993 Civic... but sadly, I must part with the peppy little thang.
I wanted to make it a tuner, but the fundage ran out... and the family SUV requires insurance and much fuel... and payments.
So.. I may be on here a while... unless my thread in the for sale forum gets noticed.

Why not sell the SUV, that things a money bit for gas. The urban jungle really isnt a jungle, especially in suburbia.

Yeah... well... I sold the Civic... it drew shortest straw in our family's list of rides. I will miss it.
I will still be lurking, however, so thanks for the welcome!

lameage! Hope to see you posting man... you'll prob grab a civic in the future and you'll know everything about it if you stay on the forum.
Re: Hello Civic Peeps
Technically it is still in the family... my dad bought it.
I'm currently researching a bug in the electrical for him... for some reason the brake lights stay lit as if the brakes are pressed, ignition on or off.
Any ideas?

Re: Hello Civic Peeps
Get down by the pedals, is there a button type thing that activated the brake lights when its pressed- its probably stuck
Re: Hello Civic Peeps
EDIT: Found it... it is moving freely, however the brake pedal doesn't depress it in or out... it is at the spot of the hole... I tried putting something in the gap to depress the switch, but it made no difference (my thinking was perhaps, depressed in was no brake, and let out gives brake light - at least that seems sound, as with it depressed with no pressure on the brake it would yield no lights...)
Is that clear?
So with the switch freely moving, and difference whether contacted or not, could this be a fuse issue? I look in the fuse panel but I do not read a fuse for "back up lights" only.
So 1) could it be a fuse, and 2) should there be a rubber grommet or something to make the brake pedal have contact with the switch?
BTW- Thanks for all of your help!

-in case you didn't catch my edit...
AND NOW.... Let me EDIT again!
Fixed it! The initial switch I found was on the Clutch (duh!) - and the brake pedal switch was not being depressed in at all! Same as the one on the clutch pedal.
I'm looking up adjusting the pedal, etc. in my Chilton's I found online... hee hee...
Thanks, TRIZ, you're great Admin.. and a scholar!
