Hey everybody, I am new to this forum.

hey everybody, whats up?

I am a complete noob to tuning and was hoping i could get some info outta this site

My name is Mike, and I am from Michigan.

I own a Honda Civic SI 2007, and have been saving money and thinking about tuning the car. but I have not idea where to start. I have always wanted a Turbocharger in my car......I am not sure what the part is called, but I always also wanted my car to make that "PPPPSSSHHHHHHHH" sound when you switch gears. but I still have no idea.

I have been looking at some body kits online also, but, what exactly are they for, do they just make your car look good? or is it for downforce and tracktion? (or whatever)

So if you have any ideas on where to buy the parts please post. I would also appreciate some places to buy body kits also.

(I am not sure if this was the right place to post this, sorry.)

-----THANKS, Mike

Wow my friend.

Well first off your car is going to be relatively fast seeing as it is Si and you forked over the five grand or so up front for that model. I think you should be in the neighborhood of 200 hp or 175whp, with this you will be able to take down alot of chumps who will try and **** with you on the road.

If all you want is the "shhhhhhhhhhh" noise go to autozone and buy this piece of crap speaker you keep under your hood that mimicks a turbo. If you want a turbo expect to save up about ten grand for your model out the door, but be able to really throw down some ponies!

Body kits at our level are completely for asthetics!! its simple physics, unless your car is ridiculously light (a thousand pounds or so) and your pushing 600 whp there will be no downforce. plus most of the aerokits available are so horrible crafted that if you were pushing the speed when downforce would play, the thing would fall of your car.

If I were you I would do one of two things.

Drop your car with some nice coilovers, I do believe they are out. K-sports are innexpensive and will perform as good as teins for street use. I dont recommend using non full coilovers that you see advertised in tuner mags, general rule, if it dont come with a shock your better off stock. Then just sit on your cash, and save up for a nice turbo kit, with gauges, fuel mgmt, new ecu or hondata, cat-delete exaust, and a tune. there is where the 10 large comes from. the turbo is ussually the cheap part, the other stuff is what costs ya.

Or trade your car and buy a car that already has a turbo! such as a suburu, or audi! if you went that route all you would need is a intercooler upgrade, BOV upgrate and probably a wastegate upgrade to get yourself spoolin enough to impress the girls at prom.

well thats what I got for ya
