New to the community

what's up my name is James and right now i am in a 00 Sunfire. I am looking into getting a 7th gen blue 4 door ex. Now that's the easy part. the problem that i am running into is too many options and too little money. I was checking the forum out and i saw that one member is pushing 374 to the wheels using the d16 motor. i am amazed that these little motors can produce that much power reliably. that's one of the main reasons that i am swicthing to a civic. the other reason is gas but i am getting off topic here. i see that the K20 motors bolt into these chassis and give out great HP#'s but they are costly. I dont really like turbo so that's the only real reason i wouldnt want to keep the stock d16 motor and the fact that it's SOHC. It seems that no one os planing to make a supercharger and even if they did it wouldnt even compete with the #'s that turbo can produce. what would you do? boost your d16 and keep it until the end of time, or swap k20 power into it and then build from there? it seems like the swap is gonna cost more without a doubt but is it worth it? I am trying to keep my car daily driver friendly and keep great gas mileage, but i wouldnt mind having the power to be a weekend cruiser either you know. well i would like input from all of you experts before i jump into this because like i said, there are way too many options. thanks again and nice meeting you.

i would do a gsr swap. you can find them at a good price. the d series rods are on the week side so if you turbo i would think about replacing them.

Find an already k-swapped car and buy it, but do your homework on the car and make sure it was done right.. i believe it would save you the headache and hassle of doing the swap yourself... Oh and i dont know if im the only one that actually read it but 7th gens have D17 motors man, not D16.
