Proud New Owner [Pics of ma Old Flames]

Hi guys, I just bought myself a Brand Spankin New 2005 Civic LX. It's an awesome car and I am amazed by the gas mileage it gets. I had some question on the car. On full tank, what do you guys usually get? Since it's stock right now, do I need to put in premium gasoline only or can I use regular? Well, I hope to mod this car but I was just wondering if a K20A or K20A2 engine swap is a simple swap? I look forward to all your help.

Thanks

BTW Here are my previous cars...

wow, the Civic will never life up to those cars..... 87 octain gas is fine when stock.... 93 octane if youre boosting, or have a K20A/K20A2.

yeah, honestly it wans't easy going from those cars to my civic but the main reason being financial, im very happy about the civic and that it's very reliable and fuel efficient. And mod-able too. I was surprised to see people with K20A's in their RSX's go 13s even with just bolt-ons! I was really shocked when I found out my civic only weights like 2500lbs! I look forward to modifying the civic. First things that I am considering is to lower it with a good suspension setup and then a nice subtle bodykit.

Thanks for the inputs.

his name was quicksilver in san diego, yea i never heard the final story of that but yea a swap is always a possiliby, but no its not easy on the 05s, on a 2005 lx sedan auto i get probaly 310 miles unless its a long trip where i get like 370 but mine is brand new as well and needs time to break in

welcome!
If you are looking for a more OEM look get a subtle lip kit and grap one of the 2 different HFP wheels(Honda Factory Performance. wheels come with HFP package but now sold seperatly at www.handaaccessories.com).
If you want a more modified look then the possibilities are huge.
I have 7 spoke HFP wheels.

Just giving you ideas. I love these and they arent too much either.

I never thought someone would downgrade to a civic. Now you have great mileage and no torque. Hopefully you have fun with your ride.

damn man, you had some nice rides. anyways, have fun with the vic, welcome to the site. oh, mpg btw ranges from 32-40 mpg in the city, 43 highway. all depends on how you drive. and your milage will suck until you have about 15k miles on it. oh, and il be the first to ask...is it auto or manual?

oh yea btw, silver04 said the truth about how ur mpg won't be as good as it should be until u break about 15k miles.
and of course manual gets better mileage than auto
(btw i have 01 coupe auto w/ intake)

well, the first IS300 I had, I totalled because my car slipped in the rain and hit the guardrail coming off the highway. The 03 IS300 I had to sell cause I left for Korea for about 9 months. When I got back from Korea, I originally wanted a white 04 M3 but they didn't have any in the dealer and I didnt want to wait. I didn't have a car at the time. Well, I was driving a Ford Focus for a while. That focus gave me a lot of problems. It started to stop in the middle of the FREAKIN highway and anytime I would turn. I took it to ford and they told me it had a Fuel Rail recall. Anyway thats how I ended up with the 330ci. Right now, my gf moved in with me [she was originally in LA, me in Colorado] So I didn't want to be too selfish and spend my money on just my car and insurance etc... so... yeah.. But I love her more then anything and it was totally worth it. So yeah, im not or anything
But yeah, I do miss my old cars. Especially the IS300 more then anything.

I am not sure if some of you guys seen it but on the IS300 and the BMW, they have a thing called MPG guage. It basically tells you depending on your throttling, how many mpg the car is getting at that exact moment. It thought me a lot about saving gas. Well, it's common sense to just not step on it but it's kind of hard to explain. I'm still on my first tank of gas from the dealer and I think i can hit close to 500 miles. I guess it also helps that I drive on the highway 90% of the time.
