I bought some LEDs on eBay and they sent me some dual filament bulbs. I am trying to replace my reverse bulbs but I noticed the stock ones are single filament.
So my question is, can I just break off the little metal contacts off the dual filament bulb and make it a single filament bulb? Or would doing that cause some electrical problems?

Just plug them in and see how bright they are. (I'm guessing they are like a #1156 socket and #1157 bulb?)

194/168/921 incandescent bulbs are only single filament. I'm guessing by "dual filament...LED bulb", you mean it has 4 metal contacts on the wedge. They probably did that to make it an omnidirectional, for a lack of rotter words, meaning no matter which way you plug it in, it'll still light up.
They are the reverse bulbs so they are 7440.
They have 4 metal contacts in the wedge and the stock ones only have two.
