Ok, so i just bought a pair of JDM black housing headlights. Now I just realized (after I paid for them ) that the part where you put your turn signal bulb in has no amber in it... would then my turn signals be illegal? I have no idea if the bulbs themselves are yellow or what... 02 civic

In most regions the law states that the reflector must be present, meaning a bright amber coloured bulb would not be sufficient. The LED bulbs are also not very bright, so those would not be a good option.

If you want to make them legal then you could mount a piece of plastic inside the headlight, then paint it with amber headlight paint; another option would be simply removing the amber piece in your stock headlights and mounting them in these, it just pops out.

almost every state allows for a front turn signal of any color between white and amber. so you are fine with the clear bulbs, or you can grab a pair of 7443 amber tinted bulbs from ebay seller autopartshouse. i would not use leds as they will fail quickly and be nowhere near bright enough to see. you do need an amber reflector on the side, but nobody ever enforces it.

Ok, so i also bought the bulbs from the link. Idk man, last night I decided to put my 04 conversion on hold, that's why I bought these... they come with the fog lights plus I bought the type r grill... Next on the list is the mugen type front lip, and finally the drop. I guess the conversion will have to wait until the tax returns . I just hope these lights will be a decent fit

the amber cover has nothing to do with it being "legal." As long as the headlights have the reflector inside, it is legal. looking from the picture that u provided, it DOES have the reflectors inside. the only colors that are illegal to install in the front are red, blue/hyper white and green(some people are crazy). any other color is fine.

yeah techincally those lights are illegal because the corner reflector is clear instead of orange. every car in the usa must have amber corner reflectors. ive never once seen this law enforced tho and cops have better things to do than look at reflector color. the turn bulb like i said can be clear or amber so its personal preference. ive had lights like those before and the fit is perfect like stock. the light output is a bit worse, but you can still see the road.
